Tuesday's weather: Early fog expected on west coast but warnings of high fire-danger in some areas

Morning fog is expected on the west coast of the country. Otherwise, fine and mostly warm temperatures are forecast elsewhere, but with an extremely high fire-danger warning in some parts, according to the South African Weather Service

Fire danger warnings

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central parts of the Northern Cape, Central Karoo in the Western Cape, as well as the western interior of the Eastern Cape.

Gauteng will be fine and warm but cool in places in the south.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

Fine and cool to warm temperatures are expected in Mpumalanga.

Limpopo can expect fine and warm temperatures.

Fine and warm conditions are forecast for the North West, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.

The Free State will be fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Cool conditions are expected along the coast of the Northern Cape, where it will be cloudy at times with morning and evening fog.

Otherwise, fine and warm to hot temperatures are forecast, becoming partly cloudy in the extreme east in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate north-westerly to westerly.

The Western Cape can expect partly cloudy conditions along the coastal areas and adjacent interior with morning fog, returning along the west coast in the evening.

Otherwise, fine and cool to warm temperatures are forecast.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh north-westerly to westerly, reaching strong along the south-west coast by mid-morning.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy along the coast and adjacent interior with morning and evening fog in places.

Otherwise, it will be fine and warm but hot in places over the interior.

The wind along the coast will be a light north-easterly, becoming a moderate south-westerly.

Fine and warm conditions are forecast for the eastern half of the province, becoming partly cloudy along the coast in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a light north-easterly, becoming a moderate south-westerly in the late afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal can expect to be fine and warm but hot in places in the east.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate north-easterly to northerly but fresh to strong in places north of Richards Bay at times.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
