What's the baby up to?

Growth points

She knows where you hid the biscuits! At around 1 year, toddlers develop a new ability to remember experiences that occurred a few hours or even a day earlier. Babies of this age often demonstrate this new ability by repeating a recalled experience, such as throwing a ball or stacking blocks, at a later time.

Month 15 Milestones

Most babies of this age can:

 Walk backwards
Use three or more words regularly
 Play with a ball
 Climb stairs
 Laugh at funny things

Other stuff to think about

Driving you crazy

At this stage trips in the car can become a bit of a challenge as your active baby might be fussing and frustrated. To minimise the stress in the car:

Make it a rule that the car does not move until everyone is strapped in. If this is the rule from the start there are less likely to be arguments later.
Pack a cooler bag with healthy snacks and drinks if it is likely to be a long journey. Avoid sticky food or hard food your toddler can choke on.
Try to play car games that involve looking out of the window. This makes it less likely that your child will get carsick, and helps to distract her from being stuck in a car seat.
Pack a selection of quiet toys for the trip to keep your toddler busy. Bring out one at a time.
Bring lots of good sing-along children's music tapes.                                                                                           Have wet wipes, tissues, and a spare nappy change handy in case of emergency clean-ups.
