When your memory isn't at its sharpest, it helps to have a list to take the headache out of quick trips to the mall or friends. We've asked our readers to let us know what they can't do without, and compiled this useful baby changing bag list.
Have an extra bag or backpack packed and ready to use in your car's boot, and remember to replenish any used items when you come back.
Baby's nappy bag
0 – 6 months
- 4 nappies
- baby wipes
- changing mat
- bum creme
- disinfectant spray (or waterless hand wash)
- plastic bag for dirty nappy
- 2 sets extra clothes for baby
- burp cloth
- feeding shawl
- dummy/bottle if necessary
- rattle or soft books
- soft blanket
- something warm (beanie, long sleeves), in case
- sun screen
- extra outfit for mom!
From 6 months, add:
- purées, cereal, or finger foods in case you won't be home at mealtimes
- toys
- bottle or sippy cup for juice or water
Toddler's backpack
- 2 nappies or 4 extra panties
- wipes (for bum and fingers)
- disinfectant spray (or waterless hand wash)
- warm clothes, in case
- sun screen
- set extra clothes
- toys, crayons, paper, puzzles, books
- juice bottle
- snacks
