It is wonderful that people are always discovering more ways to soothe babies by imitating the womb environment. Swaddling is one of the easy ways to keep baby calm or to bring baby back to a calm state. Studies have shown that swaddle bathing is a low-stress and appropriate bathing method for premature infants, but all babies can benefit from this. Dr Welma Lubbe, who is a registered nurse and advanced midwife and lecturer, tells us more about this.
