Are you tired of seeing endless pictures of babies in your Facebook timeline? Now there's a Chrome extension which automatically replaces pictures of babies which appear in your Facebook feed with pictures of cats, manatees or even pictures of strips of bacon.

According to the Los Angeles Times, was unleashed at the beginning of August, and has already collected 50 000 likes. That's fairly conclusive proof that not everyone wants to see those pictures you thought were soooo cuuuuute!

The app was developed by three New Yorkers in their 20s and 30s, who were growing weary of their friends and families' baby snaps.

In fact, that's how the software works: When a Facebook user uploads baby pics, and uses descriptions such as 'cute baby pic', 'first birthday' or 'sweet baby!', is running in the background, scanning for certain keywords or phrases. It automatically replaces the pictures which will show up in your feed, if you have downloaded it with pictures from an RSS feed- currently set as to default to pictures of cats, although it can be customised. Once running, a replaced pic carries the legend 'baby removed'.

The site itself says there are three steps: Install, remove and rejoice, adding that it's 'a Chrome extension that deletes babies from your newsfeed permanently- by replacing them with awesome stuff'.

If the pictures don't have any description, one or two baby pics may still slip through.

The designers of insist that they don't dislike babies.
