Husky kills newborn baby
A family pet has bitten and killed a 2-day-old baby
Tragedy struck a Canadian family when their pet husky bit their baby, leading to the newborn infant’s death, according to The Star.

The devastated parents say that the husky was properly trained, and they even attended seminars by the Calgary Humane Society, including one on how to bring a new baby into a home with pets.
The couple, say reports, have four huskies, and are actively involved in training the powerful animals for dog-sled teams.

Despite their best intentions, the baby, born on February 13, was bitten once by the husky on February 15, and later died of his injuries.

A family friend has said that the dog had managed to get loose from its kennel in the basement where it was locked, and was likely trying to comfort the baby, who was crying in his crib when it bit him once in the head. The female dog had previously given birth to several litters of puppies.

Police have said there was no negligence by the parents and there will be no criminal charges.

The grieving parents have been unable to discuss the fate of the husky, which has been locked up since the death of their son, as they are struggling to cope with the events. Animal activists are seeking to get the animal adopted rather than destroyed.

The baby’s death has worried many dog owners with young children, despite the incident being an isolated one.

Who would you say is to blame for the death of the baby?
