You can now request an 'UberFamily' vehicle the next time you need to get somewhere with your little one.

UberFamily makes it possible for parents to travel with children under the age of three in new, safe and already installed car seats.

This is great news for any parent who uses Uber with their kids and would previously have had to carry their own car seat around with them.

Parents who use nannies and au pairs to drop off and fetch kids from school in an Uber will also find comfort in knowing that Uber has introduced several new safety features for UberFamily rides.

Uber has ensured that the drivers of UberFamily have been associated with the app for a long period. These drivers have also attended comprehensive seminars to better equip them for family travel and all child safety seats have been fitted into the car's Isofix seats.

The trials for the service are currently in place and available in Johannesburg until it is officially introduced nation-wide.
