The lay-back position
This position allows you to breastfeed while sitting back in a comfortable chair.
Another position for when milk flows very strongly, causing Baby to splutter, is to lie back in a comfortable chair with a small pillow in the hollow of your lower back and a neck cushion for support. Lie Baby on his tummy along the length of your abdomen, so that his mouth reaches your breast easily and he can latch well. You can support his head a little but this is mostly not necessary.
