Breastmilk is alive!

When Rachel Lim's husband brought his microscope home to do some blood cell scoping, she got the idea to put some of her breastmilk under to get a closer look at what is was made of. According to her Facebook post they were amazed to find that the milk was alive and quivering!

But while this was news to Rachel and her husband, and to many who've watched it, scientists have known for quite some time that breastmilk contains living cells such as bacterial cells that help program the baby’s immune system, white blood cells that actively destroy bad bacteria and viruses and stem cells which could potentially be an internal repair system.
