3 movement games for babies

accreditation

  1. Undress baby and lie her on her tummy on a cushion so she’s leaning on her arms and hands. Gently stroke her back until she raises her head and back. Now hold her with her back towards you and put one hand on her knees, the other on her chest. Lean her forward as far as she can go. Try this in front of a mirror and see what happens.
  2. Put baby on her tummy. Stand about 2 feet in front her her, moving a toy from side to side. Baby will follow with her eyes and head. After a few months you can also move the toy up and down and eventually in a large circle - see if baby can follow your movements
  3. With baby’s clothes off place him on his tummy, arms hanging over a rolled up towel. Holding him by his thighs gently push back and forth (place a toy in front of him to keep concentration going). Then place baby on his back and make cycling movements with his leg. Over time baby will learn to do this for himself.
