5 apps for new moms
Being a new mom is overwhelming. Here are 5 apps to help you adjust to parenthood.
Baby Monitor and Alarm
This app sends an alert to your phone when your baby wakes up crying. It also plays a recording of your voice when baby starts to stir to help them settle again. The cool part of this app is the activity log that helps you monitor your baby's sleep patterns.Available in the Google Play Store for R45
Once your baby hits the 3-4 month mark they have something that resembles a loose routine. But sometimes it's hard to figure out. I loved this app because it reminded my tired brain of how long it had been since my baby slept or from which breast he had fed last.Available for free in the Google Play Store
My Baby Today
This Baby Centre app provides you with a personalised daily calendar of your baby’s development as well as a helpful checklist and reminders you can update to fit your needs. The Baby Birth Clubs are especially useful when you're wondering if whatever is happening with your baby is normal for his age.Available for free in the Google Play Store
White Noise Baby
This app really came in handy when my son started to stir at night but it wasn’t time for a feed. I just popped it on with a timer and he settled rather quickly. The soothing sounds helped me sleep too.Available for free in the Google Play Store
Fisher Price Animal Sounds for Baby
My son loves this app. Whenever he gets a bit niggly I put the animal sounds on and he is transfixed. There are only 2 songs but babies have a limited memory bank anyway.Available for free on the Google Play Store.
