Are you a Metrodad?
Forget the metrosexual, meet the Metrodad!

A Metrodad is a dad that can hold down a good job, make time for his friends and family, take the dog for a walk, cook supper, put the baby to bed and give you a back massage all in one day.

He is the dad who is kind, gentle, supportive, and caring but can protect his family when it comes down to it. He is a man who does not watch you while you clean the house, feed the baby, cook, and buy groceries but actually helps you with the tiring mundane everyday things.

Metrodads take equal responsibility for their offspring and put just as much effort into helping with their bundle of joy without begrudging anyone. He changes nappies; vomit becomes a new colour in his wardrobe and he'll wash the baby without blinking an eye. He is also a dad who can be cool and suave and still make breakfast for the love of his life in bed without breaking a sweat.

Dads like Taye Diggs, David Beckham, Richard Hardiman, Lucas Radebe, Seal, Adam Sandler, Micheal Mol, Shona Ferguson, Brad Pitt, Will Smith and Justin Chambers have it locked down. You probably think that those dads have more money, more resources, more of everything to help them, but there are dads out there that have all that and put in zero effort.

Five things Metrodads would never say:
  • Oh, how did you get here? Wasn’t I supposed to pick you up?
  • Wow, you've really grown a lot since the last time I saw you.
  • Your mother will be home soon. You're not that hungry, right?
  • Pass me a few beers there, little buddy.
  • Can’t you keep that baby quiet?
Are you or is your partner a Metrodad?
