Dummies aye or dummies nay?
Do children and parents need dummies? See what our Facebook and Twitter users had to say.
Even celeb kids find comfort in their dummies as five-year-old Suri Cruise (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes daughter) was pictured
still sucking her dummy. When it comes to the pacifier parents are always faced with a bit of a conundrum when deciding if their child should use it and when it is the right time to stop. Here’s what our Facebook
users had to say.Dummies aye
Aye... It has been a sanity saver!!! My little one only uses it to fall asleep and until she is ready and understands she can have it to sleep. - Kelly Painczyk
A very big YES! My LG is 3 and only has it now when she sleeps at night. My saving grace when she's sick or hurt. The sight of it calms her down :) She has lovely straight teeth too and has sucked her Nuk dummy since birth! - Brigitta Ellis-Nel
Aye 3x over. It’s a fantastic substitute for mom's boob. The youngest rejected it just before he turned 1, though, which is why he insisted on having a boob or a bottle in his mouth to fall asleep until the age of 3. - Janine Dunlop
Aye aye aye!!! And until they are ready and then wean them off or they just decide one day that they don't want it :) - Shelley Morris Foot
My son his 20months and still sucking his dummy-if I take it away at the end of the day he'll ask "dummy please mommy" so for now aye !!! as Kelly says it’s a sanity saver :) - Tarryn Trevor-Jones
My son spat out his dummy on day 2 of his life and never wanted it again. - Elton Barrish
Was a dummy pro till 6months and changed dummy stages then my little girl decided she didn't want it anymore. I then became the dummy lol - anitaboxoza
I tried dummies with both of mine but they didn't like. Don’t really have an opinion for other people. Whatever works? *shrug* - tracyengelb
Dummy no, Nathan's self pacifies with his thumb and better yet, I don't have to worry about it falling on the floor :) – imnojamieoliver
I first believed nay and 3 months later wished I had said aye, by which time my little monster in disguise refused a dummy, no matter what shape or size. I later discovered that his blankie (towel nappy) was his comforter, rubbing it between thumb and forefinger. BTW without dummy, he has beautiful aligned teeth and still loves his blankie from time to time. - Claron Liebenberg Are you dummies aye or dummies nay? At what age should children stop sucking a dummy?
