5 inspirational songs to make you love parenting more than you already do.

Now and then I come across a song which speaks to me, expressing clearly what I’ve always felt but have never spoken. Because most secular songs are about love, it’s refreshing when a singer comes up with a parenting song.

Below, is a sample of parenting songs which I'm sure many parents have found inspirational.

If I Could by Regina Belle

Lyrics of this song could easily have come from a parent to a child, promising to teach, protect and love him or her.

"I really love this song it takes me back to when I was a little girl. (It) makes me think so much of mother. She’s awesome," was one of the comments posted on Youtube.

I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack

With over 11 Million views on Youtube at the time of writing this is one of my favourite parenting songs. The lyrics of this song deserve to be displayed in every teen’s room. In this song a parent urges a child to take chances, to avoid the path of least resistance.

Child Of Mine by Carole King

In this song a parent acknowledges that although she sees the world differently from her child she still loves her. The song can easily be dedicated to those children who are leaving home because, in it, the child is encouraged to make decisions and face the world.

Teach Your Children by Crosby Stills Nash and Young

This classical song encourages parents not only to teach their children but to also learn something from them. It’s an uplifting message for every parent.

A New Day Has Come by Celine Dion

Every new parent knows that it’s a new day when a child is born. This song describes that feeling well and reminds us that every child is a miracle.

Which songs inspire you to be a better parent?
