When it comes to business, it's who and what you know that counts.  Here is a list to get you started.

The basics

If you want to start an online business

To make money online, the best person to contact is Tony Seifart. This is if you want to sell a product or service.

If you are more into making money from a blog, go to John Chow.  If you sign up for his newsletter you can download his free e-book which explains everything you need to know about advertising, affiliates, etc.  

For the best blogging software, go to You can get a free web domain from them, or you can upload the software to your own domain. You will need to do the latter if you want to have paid adverts on your site.

If you want to get paid online but can't afford the credit card fees (the expensive bank charges in addition to having a secure site), FNB has just launched PayPal in South Africa. Go to FNB and sign up.

If you want to be a virtual PA or do transcriptions, go to Tavasa.
