World’s most awful parents caught on video
The animal kingdom is not always the best place for helpful parenting tips.
If you’re a puzzled parent looking for helpful tips on how to raise a child, it’s probably unwise to look to the animal kingdom for inspiration. “Nature, red in tooth and claw” [Tennyson] is often an even more
to raise young ones than in the safety of a home. The short video you’re about to watch will highlight this.Fuzzy, cuddly and occasionally lethal
Not all animal parenting
is bad, of course. You get some great examples of nurturing
in between the bloodletting and survival of the fittest.
Let’s say for a minute that you’re thinking of loosening the apron strings
a little. You want your child to find their own feet, leave the nest
or just start doing the dishes. You know that doing this can expose them to disappointment or failure (or even personal harm) but you do it anyway. That’s a difficult part of being a parent- letting your child express and act on individuality.
It may make you feel like the worst parent in the world, if only for a split second. Also, you may not be the best parent, but you'll never be a "kick-your-kid-off-a-400-foot-high-cliff" type of bad parent...
Here’s a short video to illustrate the terror you may feel when it comes to letting go of your child, but please watch right to the end!Base-jumping Barnacle Goose via BBC/Youtube
