President 'urinates in pants' during speech [video]
Toddlers, moms and grandparents understand the agony of loss of bladder control.
It’s not just potty-training toddlers who can lose control of their bladders; the 62-year-old Colombian president had an apparently humiliating accident while giving a televised speech, according to LiveLeak.

Brave President Juan Manuel Santos didn’t let the mishap slow him down. Despite an obvious growing stain on his trousers he pressed on with his re-election campaign speech.

He’s said to be hoping that the accident, which apparently came during a long session of speeches, doesn’t hinder his attempts to maintain leadership of Colombia.

The embarrassment of accidents

Incontinence is not just limited to little children. While parents may grow frustrated with toddlers during potty training, some moms and grandparents know the fear of an accidental leak only too well.

After childbirth, it’s possible for some moms to lose some of their ability to control their bodies. A big sneeze, a leap on a trampoline of even just a bout of laughter may be punctuated by a sudden leak of urine.

In the same way, older people may also experience loss of bladder control.

What can be done?

There are some exercises which may help, but if the situation becomes chronic, it may be necessary to use pads or even adult diapers to prevent public humiliation. In certain cases corrective surgery can help.

That said, if you have a problem with occasional accidents, you may need to ensure that you make more frequent trips to the toilet.

Understanding that loss of bladder control can happen to the best of us will give a new appreciation for small children learning to wee  in the right place at the right time…
