A scare and a birth

Blogger, Hopeful Mom remembers lying in theatre after a painful spinal block and waiting for her baby boy to be born. Even a cancer scare from the moment he was born didn’t make this birth experience less special. “That moment when I held him properly for the first time was amazing… He was wide awake and just stared at me.” Read the rest of Hopeful Mom’s story here.

The labour and birth story

AyDee gives a blow-by-blow timeline of her labour went. She was even convinced at one point that it was a false labour! After a fairly quick birth, she was stitched up with a barely working epidural. To say she was in pain is a bit of an understatement. “I was so overwhelmed and I didn't even think to request local anesthesia!” Read the rest of her story here.

Births – 1994 and 2001

Tracy shares her births and just how different things were so many years ago. Her first birth was quite dramatic, especially as she was just a teen. When her daughter was born some years later, things weren’t quite as dramatic but still quite an experience! “They didn't have a bed in the labour ward so I had to do my thing in the ward where all the other moms were sleeping. Nurses got cross with me for making too much noise & disturbing them.” Read the rest of Tracy’s story here.

The birth story of Jamie Alexander

Debs tells us about her near-perfect C-section birth and just how amazing it is seeing your little baby for the first time. “Gynae asked me if I felt anything and I told him ‘no, but I’m not sure’ and he assured me that I would have uttered the F-word if I did and then hubby told me I was already cut open.” Read the rest of her beautiful story here.

My experience of home birth

Sassy has three very different experiences when it came to giving her birth to her children. She took a bath, walked around and even knelt on the floor as her son was born. "I didn't need any type of painkillers or an episiotomy for any of the births and each experience was something to treasure." Read the rest of her story here.
