'How to fight a baby'

Babies being force-fed lemons, babies perched on Rhoombas and babies frolicking with savage hounds: For some parents, Youtube is the go-to place to have a few laughs at their baby’s expense. Not to be outdone, Gavin McInnes has presented his latest in baby teasing: How to fight a baby.

Wait, surely he means cuddle or hold or snuggle? No, he means fight. In his short instructional video he shows us just how to put one over on a baby, and offers tricks and tips for getting to a baby’s weak spots.

Funny or not?

The baby is clearly happy and having fun, and obviously not too fazed about being plonked onto a soft duvet, but some commenters on the Youtube video are putting on their health and safety hats and raging against the “violence.” They’re suggesting that someone else may try and copy the video and actually harm their baby.

It’s actually pretty cute, but I guess the responsible thing to do would be to add a giant warning:

NO BABIES WERE HARMED IN THE FILMING OF THIS VIDEO. DO NOT TRY AND COPY THESE STUNTS AT HOME, THEY WERE PERFORMED BY A PROFESSIONAL BABY.

Too much? We know babies can be tough as nails and incredibly resilient. Even though some new dads freak out and refuse to even hold their babies, this dad seems to love his time with his child. Also, it’s clearly categorised under COMEDY and not PARENTING on Youtube.

Sure, we’d never advocate violence against children, but a sense of humour will make your parenting experience a much more enjoyable one.

What do you think? Is Gavin’s video appalling and irresponsible or cute and endearing?
