The World's Toughest Job: Dad Edition
See how these men respond when prompted with "how would your dad react?".
Around Mother's Day, a video called The World's Toughest Job
made the internet rounds. Many loved it, others didn't
. Some wondered if there would be one for fathers too.
Well here you are. The card company brings us the Dad Edition of The World's Toughest Job.
Watching it, I wasn't quite sure what to think. The stereotype of dads being the more incompetent parent, the police man, the babysitter; it felt insulting. I honestly thought, "Do you really
not know how to hold your own child?! Come, on!" I hate that secondary parent role that dads seem to be assigned to by the media, especially when so many men are just as involved in their children's upbringing as their mothers.
But I suppose it was meant to seem like that, because the turning point is when they tell the men to react "like your father would". And the result is pretty sweet.
Another point that a colleague made was that if you compared the two videos, it still seems like moms have the harder job while dads are just there as supporting roles. And fair enough, dads are great supporters and motivators, but so are moms. And yes, moms have a tough job trying to be everything to their children, but so do dads. What do you think about the dad version of The World's Toughest Job?
