An eight-year girl has written a heart-breaking letter telling her parents she wants to die, after relentlessly being bullied at school.
Mom-of-two Naomi O’Neill (28), from Liverpool, England, was left shocked after she discovered a note on her eldest daughter, Millie’s, bed.
“I sat her down and asked her what was wrong and she told me about the bullying. She just said, ‘I want to die,” says Naomi.
After sitting the little girl down the mom was surprised to discover that her eight-year-old had been tormented for the past few weeks, Mirror News reports.
“Not one kid in the world should feel the way I feel when I get bullied,” Millie wrote in the letter.
“It makes me sad, I feel different, weird, not important, angry, dumb and hurt.
“Please help me stop getting bullied.”
The concerned mom told Echo that Millie has been verbally and mentally abused by bullies – and has even tried harming herself to avoid going to school.
Simon King, school principal, said he was shocked to hear of the note and confirms that Naomi formally complained to the school about her daughter’s bullying.
“We met with the mum earlier today to discuss the issue and she informed us that she wishes for Millie to go to another school, which is very sad as only last Thursday she told a member of our staff how happy Millie was at the present time,” King says.
The eight-year-old’s parents first found out about the alleged bullying a few weeks ago when Millie started struggling to sleep at night. After sending her to counselling, they learned that she couldn’t sleep and stayed awake to “protect her family” because the bullies had threatened to “slaughter them” at night.
The mom-of-two shared the picture of the note, which has now been shared more than 1 000 times, on Facebook in hopes that it would raise awareness of bullying.
“This breaks my heart that she’s still being bullied and to this extent,” someone commented.
“This is so sad it made me cry – how can a kid at that age feel like that? Millie is so loving, kind and caring. How can someone else’s kids do this at this age?” wrote another.
