Are you having a particularly busy and stressful day? What about the kids? How are they doing?
To calm your nerves and excite the kids, or simply have you “ooh” and “aah” at the wonders of our extraordinary world, we found the most epic, breathtakingly beautiful video for the upcoming Blue Planet II and along with it, thought up 5 reasons to absolutely, definitely, positively watch it:
1. If you’re overwhelmed at work
Take a 5-minute break from the perils of the workplace and watch this calming video of the beautiful creatures which inhabit our world. You’ll soon realise that there are things far larger and greater out there than the things we often let weigh us down.
2. If the kids are running amok at home
You’ll often find that just as bedtime approaches, the kids are wide awake. Or perhaps they’ve decided to throw out all their toys at the most inconvenient time, like just before a family function or you’re on your way out.
While we can’t guarantee this will calm them down, it certainly will fascinate them, all the while giving you 5 minutes to do what you need to do.
And what a great way to teach the kids about the wonders of our world.
3. If you’re cooped up in your room stressed about exams
We know just how stressful and exhausting exam time can be. In the midst of all that studying you barely get time to rest and actually take the breaks your brain needs.
Take 5 minutes to watch this video and we guarantee that you’ll not only be amazed, but you’ll also feel a little more inspired and motivated by the life ahead of you and the world you have yet to see.
4. If you’re reading this just before bed or just as you’re about to start your day
If you’re lying in bed scrolling through your feed and you want to watch “one last video” before you set your phone aside and turn in, or finally kick the covers off to start your day, this is totally worth that last 5 minutes.
You’ll either end your day off with stimulus for your dreams, or start your day positively inspired.
5. If you’re just about anyone, anywhere, ready to be amazed
There aren’t any mermaids in this video, but there are incredible shots of whales, waves and I’m pretty sure I saw Nemo.
It’s also a great way to get yourself pumped about the series releasing later this year, where you’ll actually learn more about the ocean than you ever knew before, for example, that not all clownfish are Nemo, nor should they be referred to as "Nemos".
Convinced yet?

The video was narrated by series presenter David Attenborough, alongside a track scored by Hans Zimmer featuring Radiohead.
The 7-episode series is set for UK broadcast on BBC One later this year and we hope we'll get to see it in South Africa soon!
