With the lockdown making room for a lot more down time for our children, keeping busy has become a challenge.

There's only so much time any of us can spend in front of a screen, especially for kids who tend to need creative outlets.

So we put together a video on how to make gorgeous bath bombs that smell as lovely as they look.

Check out the video and the tips and tricks below to make these rose baths bombs!

Ingredients

  • 200g bicarbonate of soda
  • 100g citric acid (this can be found on the baking shelf in any supermarket)
  • 2 tsp olive oil (or other cooking oil)
  • 10 drops rose essential oil
  • Crushed rose petals (from two dried out flowers)

Special tools

Silicone moulds

Tips and tricks

  • These bath bombs are the perfect gift and can be packaged together in a rustic mason jar tied with a ribbon.
  • Please note: if left in the sun, they can start to lose their shape. Be sure to add as little water as possible to your mixture. As soon as it starts to bind, press them into their moulds.
  • We suggest using silicone moulds as the bath bombs are easy to remove and pop right out. Using a metal tray would require a knock or two which could easily break your baths bombs and we wouldn’t want that.
  • We added rose essential oils and dried rose petals, but you could add lavender oil and lavender flowers, geranium or any other lovely scent. It’s really up to you. Petals, sprinkles, glitter and even a bit of food colouring – let the kids go wild and use their imagination to create their own bath bombs!

Try out these bath bombs and send us your comments and pictures.
