A child's wishlist

My children are usually very good at accepting that we cannot afford to buy them expensive gifts for Christmas, and are quite happy as long as they do get some toys or books, but lately they have decided that they would like an electric scooter and if they put all their pocket money together then they would surely be able to afford one?

I had to sit them down and explain that unfortunately even with all their pocket money we still would not be able to afford it this year but that they should keep on saving up for it!

They seemed to understand this but as they walked away I heard the one mutter to the other "We'll be as old as grandpa by the time we can afford it! " keeping a straight face was so difficult after that!

Children are truly amazing and I hope Santa will make all the precious ones happy and safe this Christmas and may we all remember to put the Christ back into Christmas!
