Here is my sleepless night story – and a fond memory it is too.
Last week Wednesday my baby (Alicia-Amorie, 18 months – not really a baby any more) was so tired when I fetched her from school that she was in dreamland at around 18h00 that evening. An exciting thought crossed my mind – maybe she is so tired that she’ll sleep right through – something I am not getting a whole lot of seeing that I am still breastfeeding.
Well, she woke up just before midnight and decided it was playtime… and Mommy was needed to join in all her games. Long story short, we ended up having a “midnight feast” (sandwich and chicken patty) after which she decided she’ll go for a nice bottle of milk.
She fell asleep while drinking just to wake up a few minutes later to give me the cutest smile (as if to say “thank you for the special moment Mommy”) and drifted right back to dreamland.
It’s moment such as these that I will treasure forever as they make the tiredness the following day all worth while.
Regards
Diana
