Abuse changes your life
This reader shares about her life.
This article brought tears to my eyes. Abuse changes you for life but the most important thing for me was that I was believed and it stopped, overnight, just like that.

I went through years of blaming myself (despite it happening between the ages of seven and ten)

Thanks goodness this mom believed and has taken her daughter out of the situation, yes justice and the law can take place, but right now it is more important that this child feels loved and protected and feels worthy. Watch her feeling of self worth as she grows up especially around boys and men... Promiscuity happens because it is a feeling of control... Something a little girl does not have when the abuse is done to her.
