Watching my daughter – Bella over the years, made me think back to my childhood days (and yes, one wish one could just for a hour go back and re live them!)
Bella can amuse her self with almost anything, any where, that’s the beauty in kids with there imaginations!, give her / them a box, a basin and they are in a different world.
I have attach various pics from about the age of 2, and the older they get the more advance play seems to be, and yes many a time when I played along I was told to stick to the rules, otherwise I’m out of the game.. Loser.. ye okay, the rules of 6 year olds are quite something and keeps on changing, and sorry to say, I can’t keep up... Yet we expect them to keep up with the rules society has created. Makes you think.
So from being Batman (woman) to some sort of diva or Barney, doesn’t matter the character, as long as she can play, and go to her own world, she’s are happy.
The other favorite hide a way place I can call it, is when Bella, takes out her miniature dolls houses and small toys / cars and then I know, for the next hour I won’t “see” or “hear” a child.
And listening to her makes you laugh at times and sit up and think. Wow, am I that strict, etc...
Importantly to me is that this must go on for as long as possible. TV only get watch over weekends and if in the week, normally something educational.. play and more play it the current focus until school next year, where play will be fading out and be replaced with schoolwork, but lets not go there now and hopefully we can figure out a way of being different characters while we are learning.
