I have a 3 year old daughter and expecting number 2 very soon. I would agree with the article. It is not only the fact of building a bond with the little one but also allowing relief for Mommy too.
Sharing the responsibility of bringing up a child together does create a family bond. A mother has the unique advantage of having carried the child for 9 months which in itself already creates a bond, however being a father, it is only from birth that a bond can be created.
