Whilst it is true that children ‘cost the earth’, isn’t it after all, one of the first considerations one should have before deciding on having children? Let’s face it – if you are not prepared to turn the proverbial penny for them, then why have kids in the first place?
Before I am judged by anyone for this statement, yes I too am a working mom who by no means can be classed as “rich” or even “middle class” for that matter (which working mom can be?). So, when my husband gripes that I spend more than the budget on an expensive birthday gift, I say to myself – why not spoil a bit?
After all, children are there to be loved and nurtured, why not the occasional spoil too? Who wrote the rule book anyway that says children may not be spoilt?? To that person I say – you obviously don’t deserve to be a parent!!!!
