I believe we need to teach our kids consequences to bad behaviour. Cause-effect.
Kids are not adults, so don't treat them like that. This is why we have such big problems in our schools. Kids feel as they are entitled and bad behaviour has no consequence. A gentle "no" will not always do the job.
Seriously, I feel that parents have lost control in today's day and age where kids rule the house. No one says beat your child into submission all the time, but set very clear consequences whether its taking toys away, a smack on the bum, naughty corner etc. Whatever works for your child's personality.
Yes you teach your child something is wrong but when they know it's wrong and do it again, there needs to be a punishment.
