We make Christmas presents for the family every year so the kids learn that giving is fun and creative, and that Christmas is not just about "getting".
Each year we work together to come up with new things to make so it's never the same thing twice. So far we have made: tie-dyed t-shirts, coasters, mosaic place mats, bath salts, bath bombs, braai rub, photo frames, fudge, toffees, fancy soaps, calendars, key rings, fridge magnets, jewellery, duct tape flip flops and loads more.
Added to this, our tree is decorated with a family tree. We made clay stars using air-drying clay, painted them and added glitter and the names of all the extended family. I made a few spare for new additions, but we have our family tree set out on our Christmas tree to remind us that this time of year is about family, sharing, love and good will.
