My parenting non-negotiables

The one thing my husband and I have always been firm about is to buckle up regardless of the distance to be traveled.  We once traveled 5000km in 2 weeks when the girls were 2 years and 4 years old.  They spent the entire journey in their chairs.  They never complain because they don’t know what it’s like NOT to wear a seat belt and they know it’s non negotiable.  Even when we are not around to enforce the rule, they insist on being buckled up.  They are now 8 years and 10 years old.
