The best whhhyy? story

My little boy is only 2 and a half and so we are not full throttle into the Why stage yet, although he has surprised me with a few Why's which I sometimes find hard to answer. Like 'why is that little girl (on the tv) sad". I try to give him a short very scaled-down & simple answer, something he will understand at his young age, but he is often not satisfied until I tell him the 100% correct answer in 'adult terms'. In other words I tell it like it is. And then he says 'Oh' and carries on with what he was doing.

I do get a lot of other questions all day from him such as 'What are you doing Mommy, where are you going, mommy, Who are you talking to mommy and What did you say mommy', "how do you do this mommy, How does this work, mommy'

As a single mother with very little interaction from the father, I have to sometimes just slow down and remember to just enjoy these little moments and feel grateful that I am the lucky one who gets to be an audience to my little boys growing mind. Its like a special VIP pass for one.
Every day I have to laugh (to myself of course!!!) at the things that he says and the things he says only to me. At 2.5 he is already self-aware and gets embarrassed to sing or do certain things around anybody else other than me. I am so glad that he feels free enough to speak his mind and one day will ask me all those Whyyyy questions knowing that he will get an honest straightforward answer from me.

Thanks for a great site. It is so real, real parents, real children and tell it how it is, with a lot of humour injected into it, which I really enjoy
Have a great day further!!

Megan
