The government has taken away control

Readers respond to Ban the Smack! by Scott Dunlop.

I'm replying on the issue of corporal punishment of children. Government has taken away parental authority from parents and teachers to discipline their own children. Today we have a rotten youth smoking drugs and partying as young as they are because they have rights. During my days at school my teacher was my mother and father. I'll do wrong and I'll be disciplined with a cane and it was not because they didn't love me but it was because they knew I was correctable and I'm capable of doing the right thing. Eventually I am a better man today cause I was corrected.

Biblical studies are taken away from schools and that's why today you see a 14 year old somebody slaughtering his own family because of what is known as satanism. I've never seen this kind of things in my life. Maybe it's because I used to go to a school where we had assembly and we gathered to praise God.

Children need to be disciplined but the level of that decipline must be reasonable and not to destroy such children.
