I often make my 4 and 2 year old sons jelly as an after supper treat. My 4 year. Thomas, old always sits on the counter top, avidly watching my every move and repeatedly asking me "When will it be ready, mum?". Naturally I reply: "When it has set."
Recently we were in the Madikwe Game Reserve and on a late afternoon game drive. We had stopped so that family members could spot and identify some small bird, through their binoculars. Clearly this was of little interest to my small boys, who began to fidgit. In an effort to distract them, I said: "Ooh, look at the beautiful sun, it's beginning to set!"
Thomas stared at this for a while and then said to his brother, wisely: "Aah, see, the sun is turning to jelly!"
