Waiting hurts
This hopeful-dad knows all about waiting for a baby.
This letter is in response to 'The 2-week wait'.

Waiting is something that can hurt you very much.
We have very little chance of having children of our own. We therefore tried a medical procedure to start a family without any success. Since then we have registered for adoption and our waiting period where we started actively wanting children is now more or less 2 years (TYW - Two Year Wait). That awful reminder of when my wife's periods each and every month start is reminder like no other.
How can we miss/love/cherish/... someone that we have not even met? This is something that I do not understand.
What we try to do and this is also my advice to the writer of above article and for couples in similar position to continue with life. Do not spent your life preparing and waiting for something that will come. Rather live your life to the fullest. Even writing this message is not easy because it comes from the heart and the heart hurt so much. Take courage that you do not have to mark off blocks of months or years that have passed.
