The Cape Town Flower Show at the Castle of Good Hope

has special workshops for kids, a dedicated Food Garden and an impressive set-up to instil a love of gardens in your young ones.  27 to 30 October.

Halloween treats for Kids 

Dress up for a Halloween Book Party at Exclusive Books where well-known authors will be reading to children.  Alternatively take your older kids on a special fancy dress Halloween Forest Night Run, or lurch along on the Zombie Walk through Company’s Garden.

Child-friendly Wine & Beer Fest 

The Bay Wine & Beer Fest in Constantia on 30 October promises a distinctly child-orientated vibe, with jumping castles, face-painting, a petting zoo and a kids’ tuck shop.  U18 enter free.

Street Beats 

The Open Streets movement once again reclaims the streets with buskers, activities, food trucks and more at Open Streets Langa on 30 October.  Kids and adults are invited to dance, play, cycle, skate, explore, connect and showcase projects in the space. Take scooters and skateboards and join in the fun.

Movie & Picnic 

The Galileo Open Air Cinema is back!  Introduce your young teens to such classics as Grease, Mamma Mia and Top Gun. Starting on 31 October.

Table Mountain

The Cableway’s Sunset Special runs 1 November to 28 February, with half-price tickets to the top of the mountain to watch the sun set and the lights come on as the night spreads across the city.    

One for the Teens

The second Canal Walk Gaming Expo runs 25 to 30 October with all the latest gaming releases and special offers from Nintendo, Xbox, Playstation and more, as well as a cosplay parade and the chance to experience virtual reality.
