On Thursday, 21 September, Kidz2Kidz (the NGO behind the Santa Shoebox initiative), will be hosting a peace gathering at the Mouille Point Lighthouse in Green Point to celebrate World Peace Day.

All Western Cape schools are invited to attend the event which is aimed at creating awareness around the Kidz2Kidz anti-bullying campaign - Cool2BeKind.

The initiative instructs teachers and aftercare facilities on recognising bullying behaviour, and how to facilitate anti-bullying sessions at their schools.

Through dialogue, demonstrations and role-play, students are encouraged to value empathy and gentleness over aggression and violence.

The campaign also provides support and counselling to students who are victims of bullying.

Organisations and schools unable to attend are encouraged to host their own peaceful gathering.
