Morning, My grandchild is 10mths and can't sit or crawl. She get a fright easily, does not grab with two hands and is a very messy eater. She smiles, is responsive to language and talks baby language. A GP referred her to a physio who said that she has both low and high muscle tone and may have brain damage. She can follow an item with her eyes. She is also very attached to her mommy.

Given the history you have given Developmental Delay is evident. However every child must be given the best opportunity to thrive. I would advise that you consult with a cranial osteopath who specialises in Paediatrics. The consultation will include a detailed analysis of the pregnancy,birth and other factors as well a physical examination which will then lead to a conclusion for the reason for this delay. In children with developmental delay there is very often a history of traumatic birth.
