Phillipa Tucker is a human rights activist and former researcher at the Centre for Applied Legal Studies where she managed the Education Law Project. Her work included providing para-legal assistance to parents and educators and advocating at both national and provincial government levels for policy change to increase access to quality education for all people in South Africa. Prior to her time at Wits University, Phillipa spent three years working in research and advocacy in Mozambique and 5 years in socio-economic research in Johannesburg. Phillipa completed her BA Honours in Political Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2000 and is currently based in Mexico.
