My baby girl is 3 years old and myself and hubby has tried everything we give her last water or juice at 18:30 at night and before she goes to bed we'll make a stop at the toilet but still she wets her bed morning hours and then she wakes me up.We layed down the rules but she does this every night.What can we do any advise will be much appreciated.

Answer

By 3 years old your child should be able to be dry through the night, or at least wake when needing the toilet. I would first have your doctor check that she is healthy, no urinary tract infections. If all is clear, then you might want to "train" her to get up during the night. It is a bit of effort on your part, but it might give you more sleep in the long run. Set your alarm for about 2 a.m. and get up and take her for a toilet stop.

Make her climb out of bed and walk herself to the bathroom so that she gets the sense of it. It may be that she feels the need to go, but is insecure about the walk to the bathroom, and by the time she has the courage, it is too late. Try it for a few nights and then tell her to call you when she needs to go, for a few more nights walk her to the toilet when she calls you, and then over a few nights withdraw that support. Don't be angry or stern with her during this time, you must be calm, as any anxiety created during this process can have a negative effect.
