ADD alternative treatments

Hi there I have hear about alternative treatment called BAUD (Bio Acoustical Utilization Device) for children with ADD/ADHD I would like to know if this kind of treatment is available in South Africa and if you know of anyone offering this service in the Western Cape area. I have read an article on Dr Frank Lawlis and also found some recommendation of the same treatment on Dr Phil's website. I would like to try the more holistic approach. What is the success rate of this kind of treatment and why is it not suggested or offered by health practitioners and therapists in general in South Africa.

I am not familiar with the device you are referring to, but it appears as though it is similar to biofeedback and neuro-therapies which are in use in this country. There certainly doesn't appear to be any research that proves that it does what it is claiming to do.

I am sceptical of these types of gadgets as a primary intervention in dealing with a complex issue such as ADD/ADHD.

I would recommend you look into a more holistic and eco-systemic approach to the treatment of ADD/ADHD. I have written extensively on this topic before so you may refer to some of my previous responses.
