The city of Seoul in South Korea is where Lee Jong-rak, an ordinary man with a big heart, changes the lives of many abandoned babies, day in and day out.

Jong-rak is a pastor who believes every child was placed on this planet for a reason, a purpose. His journey was documented by an American film student and it tells the story of how Jong-Rak, after noticing how many abandoned babies there were on the streets of South Korea, made a commitment to save these unwanted children.

He proceeded to establish the "baby box" so that people would be able to drop their unwanted children anonymously, rather than leave them desolate and out in the cold, where they would surely perish.

While Lee's organisation does not have a specific criteria for babies to be dropped off, it seems many whom have been left in the drop box have some form of mental or physical illness such as cerebral palsy.

One may think cutting a hole in a wall and fitting it with a door may be considered cold and clinical but the actual box is padded, warm and kitted-out with motion sensors and an alarm to alert Jong-Rak when a baby has been dropped off. With his system in place babies aren't left in the box for long before they are cared for.

Watch his amazing story below:

An article written by Madison Peace tells the story of Lee's own child, Eun-man, who was born with a profound disabiliy. Lee sold many items to take care of his son and pay all his medical bills.

His son was only given a few months to live, but in 2015, Eun-man celebrated his 28th birthday.
