Throwing your little one a birthday party can be wonderful, especially after you see a smile stretched across their face as they play with their friends, stuff their face with cake, and jump into bed after an exhaustingly fun day.
Usually, the day of the party ends in quite the same way for us except we’re smiling through the exhaustion, trying to stay focussed and follow conversations with the parents of our kids’ friends and eating our feelings before crawling into bed.
Because let’s be honest for a second: while we absolutely love our kids and throwing themed birthday bashes to see those smiles appear across their faces, planning the day can be quite a bags-under-the-eyes, messy-buns-and-sweatpants, curl-up-in-bed kind of task.
These hilarious Breakwomb “moms who do sketch comedy” or “sketch comedians who do motherhood” (they can’t quite decide), perfectly describe just how challenging and tiring planning a birthday party can be. But with coffee on standby they manage to get through it.
Sounds familiar? Check out the hilarious video below:
We can’t stop laughing at just how hilarious this video is.
Much of that laughter probably stems from the fact that we can completely and totally relate to these moms though.
They’ve got so many other videos that had us in stitches too. Like how “mom fun” is different to everyone else’s definition of fun (spoiler alert: it involves going to the grocery store alone) and how people sometimes comment on their “mom bods” (just a quick tip on commenting on mom’s bodies: don’t).
But we especially love this birthday planning video where they have to decide on who to invite to the party, complete with unique and bizarre names:
We found these videos oddly comforting and we absolutely love these moms for making light of a particularly exhausting task.
But at least we know that with our coffee in hand and our kids’ smiles in site, we can get through anything.
Well, almost anything.
Teen parties are a whole new ballgame.
