Best Christmas movies of all time
What movies are you watching this Christmas?

The children must be buzzing with excitement since there's only 3 days left until the big day! Once all the gifts are wrapped and food is prepped for Christmas lunch, why not gather the family around for some holiday movies that will get everyone in the Christmas spirit?

Here's our list of Christmas movies that never fail to spread Christmas cheer:

1. Home Alone (1990)

This the ultimate Christmas movie. A classic!

2. Elf (2003)

Will Ferrell hilariously portrays a man who was raised by elves in the North Pole who ventures to New York in search of his real father.

Caution: please stress to the kids that they cannot survive on a diet of candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup.

4. The Nightmare before Christmas (1993)

Not suitable for children under the age of 7, but Tim Burton's idea of a Christmas is not surprisingly scary but surprisingly cheery. The film does prove that Christmas is a glorious time of the year that even the King of Halloween longs for.

5. Dr. Seuss' the Grinch who stole Christmas (2000)

The people of Whoville are obsessed with Christmas. If they had it their way, it would be Christmas every day. The Grinch hates Christmas and if he had his way, Christmas would never exist. So he devises a plan to stop Christmas, once and for all. Will he succeed or will he learn the true meaning of Christmas?

Caution: Your heart will swell at Taylor Momson's rendition of 'Where are you Christmas'.

6. Miracle on 34th Street (1994)

Six-year-old Susan Walker doesn't believe in Santa because her mom told her he doesn't exist. When her mom is tasked with the job of finding the perfect Santa for a department store meet and greet, the man they find claims to be the real Santa. Now it's up to them to help save him from being arrested and they enlist the help of their neighbour and lawyer, Bryan to save him.

We all hold our breathe during the court scene when Bryan says: "I ask the court to judge which is worse: A lie that draws a smile or a truth that draws a tear."

7. The Polar Express (2004)

Based on the beloved children's book by Chris Van Allsburg, The Polar Express tells the story of a young boy who takes an awe-inspiring train ride to the North Pole.

8. The Muppets Christmas Carol (1992)

If there was a great way to introduce your children to literary classics, the Muppets take on Dickens' classic tale is the best way to do so. There's singing, lessons to be learnt and of course: tons and tons of humour.

9. The Santa Clause (1994)

When Charlie's dad, Scott, frightens Santa from his chimney, he is tasked with the job taking over Santa's duties until he can recover. He slowly transforms into Santa and must stop being a sceptic in order to deliver gifts to all the boys and girls in the world.

10. Rise of the Guardians

The Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause, Mr. Sandman, The Easter Bunny and Jack Frost join forces to stop Pitch from turning the world into darkness. An epic adventure for every child's imagination.
