Christmas has come and gone (much too quickly, we know) which means our countdown to 2018 has already begun. And with just 2 days left until the much anticipated and exciting new year, many of us are reflecting on what was a wonderful 2017.
For one, Malala Yousafzai started college at Oxford University furthering her education, something she was shot in the head for by the Taliban, social media users condemned bullying, with a few A-list celebrities getting involved in the discussion as well, while women who had been harassed in the workplace stood up and spoke out, in light of the allegations made against one too many Hollywood hotshots.
On the parenting front in South Africa, smacking your child become illegal, dads got paid paternity leave and everyone started talking about the minimum wage of domestic workers and nannies.
It was a good, productive year.
But on a lighter note, Jimmy Kimmel for one, opted to reflect on the year gone by looking at the videos that went viral and had us on the floor laughing before declaring his "viral clip of the year 2017".
The Jimmy Kimmel show posted the compilation online writing, "Every December, we look back fondly on all the greatest of the great clips we've gathered over the past year. Clips that have been collected by our four selfless TV watchers who sacrifice their time, personal hygiene, and any hope of a meaningful relationship to sit and watch television twelve hours a day, seven days a week.
"Thanks to these filthy and determined souls, we name one of the diamonds they uncovered the Clip of the Year 2017."

After laughing hysterically at the compilation, we thought we'd do the same and reflect on the viral videos that made us laugh in 2017.
