Cool is hardly a word any child would use to describe a parent but for dad Lynell Jinks the title is well-deserved.

Lynell, a creative director also known as Brownbag Browndad, uses his drawing talent to liven up the brown paper lunch bags his children, Zelina and Izaac, take to school, adding little inspirational messages to each unique drawing.

The imagery added to the lunch bags are all inspired by icons, movie characters and superheroes and it all began as a way for the dad to bond with his kids.

"The [drawings] would be of movies we watched or a song we listened to and it became a bonding experience for all of us," Lynell told DailyMail.com.

"I acknowledge them, and who they are and what they're into," Lynell shared in this 60 Seconds Doc feature

Zelina and Izaac's likeness has also been their dad's subjects on a few bags.

The dad elaborated further, explaining that the paper bag graphics was his way of sharing his passion for art with his children, adding that for each day of one full year, he would draw something special on their lunch bags, spending up to two hours per bag each night.

In 2018, Lynell's art even managed to fascinate former US president Barack Obama, who reshared two portraits Lyndell drew of Barack and his wife, Michelle, for Father's Day.

And whether his kids have picked up a thing or two since their dad started the lunch bag tradition or (most likely) art just runs in the family, the Jinks' are a talented bunch, with Lynell posting these handmade cards Zelina and Izaac made for him this past Father's Day.

One cool dad for sure.
