There’s the morning sickness, weird food cravings, swollen feet, not being able to sleep on your belly for nine months, mood swings – the list goes on…

Baby’s birth is such a happy occasion – your battles are over… or so you think!

Your little bundle of joy has you wrapped around its little finger, wakes up at odd hours of the night and you end up feeling and looking the part of a sleep-deprived zombie. Still, you’re mesmerised by the little cutie and can’t get enough of him or her who has become the centre of your universe.

Here are some of our favourite first-time celeb moms of 2018 who have shared their joyous news on social media with fans by revealing their pregnancies and sharing cute snaps of their babies with us.

Busiswa

One of South Africa’s leading Gqom music ladies, Busiswa Gqulu (29), gave birth to a baby boy in January this year. She and her baby daddy, DJ KayGee, real name Katlego Mlangeni, named their son, Lakhanya.

The energetic performer announced the news of her pregnancy on social media with a sexy Instagram post of herself wearing a black see-through dress and a bra. In the picture taken outside in nature, Busiswa is holding her baby bump proudly. "One of the most magical things about expecting for me is realising how loved I am. And that I have a village of warrior women waiting with me in anticipation. And they are all there to show that love to the new member. I'm reeling from this love, I'm floating on it and I'm thankful for it."

Three weeks after giving birth to baby Lakhanya, Busiswa shared the first picture of her holding him and mentioned how Sundays would never be the same again on her Instagram account.

Jessica Nkosi

28-year-old Jessica Nkosi kept her pregnancy very hush hush in the beginning but her big reveal was just that – big and glamorous. Not everyone has the opportunity to announce that they’re expecting a baby on the cover of a national women’s magazine, but Jessica certainly did.

She posted the True Love magazine cover on her Instagram and captioned it:

“Good morning loves ??????. So I have something to share with you all. I’m very sorry I’ve been quiet and kept you in the dark about me. I’ve been going through a few things and decided to take a little break and get alright but I’m much better now... ????. Now I’d like to share with you my blessing that God has gifted me with (well not just me... US lol). I feel chosen and blessed beyond compare. We can get @truelovemagazine and read about it. I have to, have to thank you for your continued love and support and care most of all. I LOVE YOU GUYS. And Ngiyabonga”

At first, the Isibaya star remained mum on the identity of the father of her child, but she later let the cat out the bag on social media, confirming that Uzalo star, Ntokozo 'TK' Dlamini is indeed the father of her child.

She shared the first picture of her daughter, Namisa Dlamini, a month after her birth. In the black and white picture, little Namisa is held by both her parents.

Not being able to contain her excitement, Jessica wrote, “Please meet ??Namisa “Nami” Dlamini ??. I love this girl with a love I can’t even begin to describe ??????... I’m so blessed, I’m so in love. It’s been a month of pure bliss. This little star has stolen my heart. Twinkle Star is here guys???????????? and I’m a MOM... I have a daughter OMG!!!”

Kayise Ngqula

Another sexy mama who revealed her baby bump creatively is Our Perfect Wedding presenter, Kayise Ngqula (27). She stood in Calvin Klein underwear and a denim jacket in front of a white background, showing her belly in its fullness.

“I am delighted... in fact overjoyed to share with you the most precious transition my entire BEING has ever undergone!! I have in the past few months been prepared for the role of a lifetime and I am so, so grateful that God has chosen to bless my womb with a fruitful seed of life and love. I’d like to thank my family, friends and colleagues for respecting our privacy during this incredible time. I’m in love!!!”

Kayise and her husband, Farai, welcomed a baby boy.

Florence Segal

Former Isibaya actress and businesswoman, Florence Segal (26), knows how to keep a secret. Even though she works in an industry that thrives on publicity, she’s learnt to keep her private life private. So when actress Florence Segal debuted her little girl on social media at five months old, fans and followers were shocked but not surprised.

She’s had some success in keeping out of the spotlight when she’s not in front of the camera and this was no different. Florence introduced her little girl to her followers on Instagram. “And there was light . . . hello my angel, thank you for choosing us to be your parents. We are blessed beyond measure.”

She and her husband, businessman James Segal, wanted to experience the birth away from the limelight. And although she had a complicated pregnancy, that saw her in and out of hospital, she certainly wants to have one more child. “All pregnancies are different. The next one could go very smoothly – who knows,” she told DRUM.

Lootlove

Luthando Shosha (28) and her rapper boyfriend, Reason, revealed on social media that they are expecting twins. Lootlove first posted a series of pictures of her silhouette on social media over a couple of days. The pictures didn’t reveal her baby bump. The last one with her entire face and body showing, exposed her baby bump, and in her caption she mentioned how cool it is that she’s expecting twins.

“It’s a phenomenal time to be me. God and my ancestors came together for me and blessed me with something so wonderful! I’m pregnant! ??????????‍?? I won’t lie! I’m shoooook! Haha! ??

I always thought I was cool ????...and now to find out that I’m having twins makes me even cooler! I am carrying Hip and Hop ???? this is the most beautiful time of my life. Most precious. The scariest and the most exciting. I’m completely vulnerable and sensitive. I’m excited! I’m nervous but all that goes away when I feel weird little “gas bubbles” which I now know are little kicks because I’m carrying life. A reminder of the miracle and wonder that is God. ?? As “personalities”/“celebrities”, we are selfishly required to share every moment in our lives and when we don’t, we have people around us that we think we can trust, who gladly do it for us whether it hurts/compromises us and those we love or not. We constantly have vultures flying above us ready to share our private lives in the most non-emotional manner ever. You may forget but all I am is Human. Flesh and blood and nothing will ever change that and yes, my life is your entertainment, I get that, but try walk a mile in my shoes.

The most important thing for me has been protecting my family, my person’s family, his beautiful children and respecting tradition. My silence has had everything to do with making sure that everyone who matters has their moment with this, that they feel everything, from shock to happiness to curiosity to excitement, ALL OF IT, Alone, Without the rest of the country pitching in, hounding them/adding commentary/calling or harassing them etc. It’s a beautiful time, it’s a sacred time, and it’s OUR time. I am BEAMING! Here’s to LOVE. Here’s to forever with the greatest gifts of them all. P.S If you see me in the streets, please don’t touch my tummy... I will punch you in the throat! ???? K thanks byeeeee,” she wrote.
