On 11 August digital media company A Plus shared a heart-warming video of father Robb Scott’s inspiring message to the world on their Facebook page, and since then received over 2 million views.

Have a look at the heartfelt video:

After feeling as though he hadn’t done enough for his son with Down syndrome when he overheard another father trying to explain to his little boy that Down syndrome was an “illness of not knowing anything”, he pulled over his car and filmed a video that he later added to Youtube.

He explains in the video:

“It’s not an illness. It is not even a disability. Just because you read slower or you don’t run as fast does not mean you have a disability to me. This is what I learned from Turner. Disabilities are perception. I believe people are teachers and learners. And a well-educated man does not have more to teach than my son. He has different things to teach. But he does not have more to teach. His knowledge in not more valuable. Down syndrome is the best thing that ever happened to me…”

Scott broke down in the video as he felt as though he had failed his son by not approaching the other father and son to explain what down syndrome is.

But with over 23 000 likes and 27 000 shares, Scott’s story has reached so many more people who have joined in on the conversation.

Messages of support flooded in:
