Watch what happens when you try to fit a baby seat into a convertible

In 2017, Mike Julianelle became the dad blogger who launched a thousand pics via his Instagram account, Got Toddlered

To show how physically transforming parenting really is, Julianelle asked parents to share pictures of themselves before and after having children, and parents everywhere couldn't resist the challenge.

From expanded waistlines to practically non-existent social lives, the #GotToddlered hashtag showed us that maybe kids really do steal your cool.

Do it really got to be like that though?

More than a bit of a downer, huh? But do it really got to be like that though?

Sure, you may not be able to party like you used to, and yes, your time is definitely not entirely your own anymore, but it turns out, there is one way to steer clear of being a 'basic' parent: your car.

We teamed up with the Wheels24 team and found that if you've already spent your money on a trippy ride, there is no reason to trade it in for a more family-friendly option, especially when baby comes along and you need to be able to fit a baby seat.

Armed with the knowledge that while compact, sports cars these days come baby seat compatible, we approached the task with optimism and a 'how hard could it be?' mindset, and found that this is one area where doing some thorough research is a must not a maybe.

If you haven't already, watch the video above and see us fail miserably.

The problem? While the Ford Mustang Convertible we got our hands on was baby seat compatible and designed with two Isofix fittings in the back seat, the baby seat we procured was vehicle specific, and mismatched to the convertible.

The solution? Parent24!

Yep, you're already in the right place to find everything you need to know about baby seats (and all things parenting!).
